Contribute
The Norwegian Booktown is important for society in many ways:
- Books deserve life after the initial ephemeral existence on bestseller lists and in chain bookstores. The Booktown is part of our collective memory: books are here to be remembered.
- We contribute positively to our environment and climate. Books that would otherwise end up as trash, find new life here. We save tons of books from an unhappy ending on a landfill.
- In The Norwegian booktown, literature is presented in an original and enthusiastic way. Books are fun, we have four miles of it!
- We are a knowledge based company in rural Norway, and contribute to diverse job possibilities in the area.
- The booktown is a great asset to tourism in Western Norway, and an important part of the activities offered to visitors.
If you want to contribute to the work we do, there are many ways to do so:
Friends of The Norwegian Booktown
You could consider a membership in the society of Friends of The Norweigan Booktown. NOK 300 a year (NOK 5000 for entreprises, valid for all staff) gives you a 10% discount off all secondhand books, as well as substantial discounts on accomodation and activities in Fjærland. You get to support the Booktown, and just one trip to Fjærland earns you back the membership cost. Contact us if you are interested. The Friends also accept donations.
Spread the word
Talk about us. We make a living from selling secondhand books, and it is crucial for us that booklovers know of our existence. Invite people to Fjærland, mention the booktown and our homepage whenever occasion arises, or bring all your friends to our mailing list or Facebook page.
Spend some time
