Miles of secondhand books in quaint bookshops
The Norwegian Book Town, Fjærland, is an experience out of the ordinary. Find books you didn’t remember you missed in bookshops you would never imagine, situated in a bewitchingly beautiful spot between fjord and glacier in Western Norway. Between May and September, all bookshops are open every day 10am-6pm, with numerous events all season. Now during winter, our office hours are 9am-2pm every weekday. We have arts and crafts, cafes, art galleries and a friendly and knowledgeable tourist information office in the middle of the booktown. Other attractions and accomodation are close nearby.
How is it possible having thousands of second-hand books in a small 280-inhabitant rural town? Read more about us and the booktown movement and find out.
Books are available by web and mail order all year. We also accept your surplus books – contact us.
